Idea detail description

This idea involves displaying how often ReRun tests are conducted. In scenarios where a patient’s test has to be repeated for any reason, it is crucial for operational efficiency. Duplicated tests are not reimbursed, and the hospital incurs the costs. The fewer ReRun tests conducted, the more efficient and cost-effective the healthcare facility will be.

Cost-saving can be achieved by:

  1. Reducing and avoiding ReRun tests.

  2. Ensuring tests conducted are accurately linked to patient ID and staff ID for billing purposes.

For point 2, we currently have the "Operator Statistics" dashboard where we can identify issues such as "Unknown Patient", "Patient Discharged", or "Patient ID Missing", indicating which samples could not be billed. However, we lack a means to track point 1, the ReRuns.

Together, both points provide a comprehensive view of the Point of Care efficiency and how many tests cannot be billed. Currently, the customer must painstakingly gather these numbers. There is an existing capability in navify Analytics Core (nA core) to display ReRuns. Perhaps the same methodology can be applied to navify Analytics PoC (nA PoC)?

In nA core, a test is marked as a ReRun if a second result is generated for the same sample after a certain period. In PoC, we could establish a similar mechanism, where if a patient receives the same parameter measured again (e.g., within 5 minutes or 1 minute), this test is classified as a ReRun.

This is highly impactful due to the financial implications and the need for cost savings.

This is also important for review of adherence to policy of repeating a test if the result is a critical value for conformation. If possible filtering for a specific patient ID or all tests that have the instrument alarm of a result exceeding the set critical value.
