Long term fix: Configuration granularity for workflow (UAB)

1) Definition of Mark/Verify/Gross is different depending on customer workflow, and impacts counts - this impacts counts on progress dashboard (this wont impact the TAT because objects without a timestamp are by default not included in the calculation):
In some labs, before a sample gets grossed into blocks, labs will pre-print cassettes. They will overprint (UAB refers to them as "marked"). However, they may not use (aka, “verify) all the cassettes. So in the "block marked OR verified" logic, it's not clear.

Example: a lab will print out (“mark”) 10 cassettes before the tissue gets grossed into blocks. It turns out that only 5 blocks are grossed (there’s only enough tissue for 5 blocks), thus only 5 cassettes are used and “verified”. So only the "verified" cassettes/blocks should be tracked. in the trainers guide, it says "marked OR verified". This creates excess object counts. Also, those 5 extra cassettes that were “marked” are just hanging out there, doing nothing, which would impact the TAT.

A person marking (printing) blocks is usually a tech, while a grossing event is done by the pathologist. This difference needs to stand out.

So the counts with marked OR verified, or any other logic with OR does not work with all customers, it depends on workflow

But at labcorp, “mark” does mean it was grossed. so there needs to be distinctions between “mark” and “verified”

Conclusion, there needs to be granularity in definition of “mark”, “verify”, “gross” and this needs to be configurable for each installation.

LONG TERM FIX: make configuration settings much more granular
