Please make it customizable that the rack number of the sample on the instrument can be shown together with the sample/lab number for ease of locating the sample.
We have won 1st line donation testing at the South African National Blood Service (SANBS). They do around 1Mil donations a year. They need to be able to identify any positive samples while on the cobas pro e801 instruments to be able to remove them for confirmatory testing. On the instrument itself the process is to tedious to find the positive result between hundreds of samples. If available on the widget of ORR, it will streamline their process and improve TAT significantly. SANBS have requested our assistance in finding the best solution before we install in Feb 2026. We have taken away the business from Abbott after 30 years. All blood donations in South Africa will now go through cobas pro e801s for donation screening. The TAT needs be the fastest we can offer.

@Ruben thank you so much. Appreciate the changes being made. We are currently installing at the blood bank's 2 sites. Kindly let me know in which release it will be, to plan ahead.
Excellent!
I will share the agreement with the development team, and we will align with our BPM @Afia Boamah in order to plan for this functionality to be included in one of our upcoming releases.
Thank you very much for your valuable cooperation.
Kind regards,
Hi @Ruben,
Thank you for the videos. I think let's go with the 6 seconds. As the blood banks don't often have a positive result, it will make more sense for them.
Hello @Lizanne Unger ,
Please find attached two videos demonstrating the carousel effect in the ORR system. In the first video, the sample/test changes every three seconds, while in the second video, the sample/test changes every six seconds. Kindly note that the rack position/rack number is not visible at this stage, as it has not yet been developed. However, we believe both videos should provide useful insight in determining whether a six-second interval for the carousel is sufficient or excessive.
We look forward to receiving your feedback at your earliest convenience.
Kind regards,
Dear @Ruben Salvador Gareta,
Thank you for reaching out, and great to e-meet you.
I would suggest that we go with option 1. To display for 6 seconds.
But if possible will it be able to send me a video to demonstrate the 2 different scenarios. It just makes more sense when actually seeing what it does.
Good morning @Lizanne Unger ,
I hope this message finds you well. Allow me to introduce myself—my name is Rubén Salvador, and I am the Product Owner for navify Monitoring. It is a pleasure to connect with you.
I wanted to reach out with a question regarding the timing between the display of the instrument name and the rack position/rack number in the shared proposal. To provide some context:
At present, the ORR widget includes a carousel feature at the bottom of the widget, where the list of samples/tests with out-of-range results cycles through periodically. The sample/test displayed in this carousel changes every 3 seconds. However, this timing creates a potential issue: depending on the interval in which he rack ID/rack position or instrument name is displayed, there may be cases where this information fails to appear before the sample/test disappears from the screen.
Given this scenario, we would appreciate your thoughts on the following options:
Increasing the carousel interval from 3 seconds to 6 seconds, allowing the instrument name or rack information to display after 3 seconds.
Displaying the instrument name or rack information earlier—say, after 1 or 2 seconds—while maintaining the current 3-second cycle.
Your feedback on what would provide the best experience for the customer would be greatly valued.
Thank you very much, and we look forward to hearing your perspective.
Yes this will definitely work. Thank you so much for attending to it so quickly.
Hi Lizanne,
Thank you for providing this crucial requirement regarding the Sample Rack Number display.
To quickly locate positive samples, we propose a dynamic solution for the instrument name field on the widget. It will alternate, scrolling between:
Instrument Name (Displayed for a few seconds)
Sample ID & Position (Rack ID and Position, displayed for a few seconds)
This approach ensures the necessary rack information is clearly visible without increasing the widget size.
Please review the short visual demonstration attached here and let us know if this could work for you.
Thank you!
