navify Monitoring will soon be integrated into navify Portal, unlocking capabilities such as notifications, portability, and drill-down navigation, enabling users to monitor and manage lab operations remotely, even when away from the laboratory.
To ensure seamless integration with the navify Portal framework, dashboards must adopt a layout based on standardized, fixed-size widgets.
To understand how best to support remote monitoring and prioritization, we explored several layout concepts with affiliates and customers. Across interviews and validation sessions, users consistently expressed a preference for a structured and organized dashboard rather than a purely priority-driven view.
Based on this feedback, this concept introduces the following capabilities:
Workarea-Based Organization (Preferred Approach): Groups and organizes widgets according to physical laboratory workareas, preserving operational context and making it easier for users to quickly locate relevant information while on the move.
Dynamic View Switching: Allows users to toggle between the standard workarea-based layout and a priority-focused view, enabling them to shift attention to the most critical alerts when needed.
Standardized Widget Framework: Uses consistent small widget sizes (2x1) across navify Portal to create a cohesive user experience, reduce cognitive load on portable devices, and encourage users to leverage drill-down functionality for deeper investigation and analysis.
Enable instrument and performance-level alerts: Focus on three primary notification topics: 1) Instrument Failures, 2) Workflow bottlenecks/Performance Metrics, and 3) System-wide updates.
