New widget: Integration of 'Average of Normals'

  • Guest
  • Apr 20 2023
Idea detail description

Creation of a new widget for Average of Normals:

  • Visualization of AoN status of each configured AoN test

  • Possible differentiation for status: no warnings / warnings / errors by colors etc. per test

Problem description:
Customers are not constantly working with the UI of infinity lab, which is why AoN status cannot be monitored in real time -> AoN feature not useful for the customer / no upselling potential.

Idea:
AoN widget in navify Monitoring could make the AoN feature valuable to customers who are not constantly working with the infinity lab UI. In addition, having this widget would provide another selling point for navify Monitoring.

Benefit for Roche:
With this widget, we could sell the infinity lab AoN feature + navify Monitoring as upsellers.

If I can spreak from the Dutch Affiliate we have more and more customers now with nMon installed and we are starting some also with the AoN functionality as well so we need this widget as well. Probably around 5 customers are wanting to implement this initially.

Authored by Boonlert Nimchongchit, attached the document summarises the requirements from APAC.

@Boonlert Nimchongchit, can you please let me know how many customers from APAC requesting this feature? That will be very helpful to push the priorty among other features. Thanks!

Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to provide more specifics on the problem and the necessity of this feature.

Why is it important to monitor AoN in real-time?
Real-time monitoring of the AoN status is crucial to taking immediate action when the average results of a series of patient samples is shifting, indicating problems with the testing process (issue caused by instrument / reagent / user / …). It is crucial to address potential issues promptly to ensure the integrity of the test results and to avoid time-consuming and costly re-testing. Real-time monitoring allows users to act proactively and minimize potential errors or quality issues.

What would users do after noticing AoN alerts, e.g., from navify Monitoring?
Once users notice AoN alerts from navify Monitoring, they could undertake the following actions:

    • Review and Validation: Check the affected tests to determine the cause of the shift.

    • Corrective Actions: Initiate immediate corrective actions (if needed) to address the deviations and rerun quality controls to ensure the tests results are reliable again.

Currently, as you mentioned, customers are not using the AoN feature from navify Lab Operations, correct? Or do they have other workarounds?
Currently customers are not actively using the AoN feature from navify Lab Operations / infinity lab, primarily due to the need to be constantly present in the infinity lab UI. Some customers might be using manual workarounds, such as periodic manual checks of the results, which are time-consuming and inefficient. Integrating this feature into navify Monitoring would eliminate these manual processes and would enable customers to act immediately.

I hope these details help clarify the need and benefits of integrating the AoN feature into navify Monitoring. Should you require any further information, our nLO product team would be the best point of contact to assist you.

@Julian Seufert Thank you for providing the detailed description of the solution regarding "Average of Normals". We need more specifics on the "problem/pain point" itself. Can you please kindly provide your input for below questions?:

    • Why is it important to monitoring AoN in real time?

    • What would users do after noticing AoN alerts, e.g. from nMon?

    • Currently, as you mentioned, customers are not using AoN this feature from nLO, correct? Or do they have other workarounds?

It's very important for the product team to understand why of this need. We will then qualify with other countries for this feature.

This idea is already in future consideration and promoted to an Epic.

    Hi all,

are there any updates on this?

Integrating the AoN functionality of navify Lab Operations into navify Monitoring is a huge use case for all affiliates. This integration will not only enhance the value of the Expert Module AoN for nLO but also boost the commercial placements of nM!

Please find a draft / first idea of a possible AoN widget attached.

Many thanks and kind regards, Julian
